1. How much does it cost to enter?

There is no fee for entering the Excellence Awards.

2. Our firm has many individuals and teams doing exceptional work. Is there a limit on how many entries we can submit?

No. Firms and teams are encouraged to submit as many entries as they like, in as many categories that apply to their business or project. Please note you will need to complete separate entries for each firm/team or individual.

3. What are the criteria for the individual awards, such as Junior Lawyer of the Year?

Entrants for the individual awards should refer to the categories and criteria. Use these criteria to explain in up to 500 words why you or the nominated person should receive this award.

4. Can non-solicitors enter?

Yes. The Law Society is committed to celebrating excellence across all disciplines in the legal professions. Firms and teams from across the legal sector are encouraged to enter any category that applies to their project or business.

5. Can I nominate someone for an individual award if I am not from a law firm?

Absolutely. The individual awards are designed to reward outstanding contributions to the legal profession, which may take many forms. If you know of an exceptional legal professional, please feel free to nominate them for an individual award.

6. What is the deadline for entries?

The deadline for entries is 19 August 2011.

7. When does the judging take place?

The judging will take place during the fortnight following the deadline for entries.

8. How will the awards be judged?

The entries will be judged by specialist judges and/or the Law Society president, vice president and deputy vice president. Details of the specialist judges for each award will be announced shortly.

9. Will I get any feedback on my entry?

No, we cannot give individual feedback on entries.

10. When will the short list be announced?

To be confirmed.

11. When will the winners be announced?

The winners will be announced at a gala awards dinner on the 18 October 2011.

12. Can I come to the awards dinner?

Yes. Tickets for this prestigious awards ceremony are available to everyone; you do not need to have entered the awards to attend. To book your place email corporateevents@lawsociety.org.uk.

13. Can I enter by post?

Yes. Online entries are encouraged but if you would prefer to enter by post you can. Please refer to the entry rules and procedures.
