Overview

In the current economic climate many practitioners are actively seeking to retrain in other practice areas. The Law Society has developed this one day introductory training session to help solicitors considering a career move into wills, probate and trusts.

Programme

The session will cover an introduction to:

  • Will drafting
  • Disputed wills
  • Trusts (including IT software)
  • Probate

Delegates will hear from a top recruiter who will provide:

  • An analysis of the current job market
  • Tips to help individuals stand out
  • Advice on what recruiters can do for you and how to use them

Who should attend?

The session has been developed for solicitors who are considering moving into probate and who:

  • may have taken redundancy
  • are contemplating a major career move.

The speaker

The session will be led by Gill Steel, a solicitor and member of the Law Society’s Wills & Equity Committee. She is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is on the STEP UK Probate & Estates Committee.
Her other qualifications include Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and MBA in Legal Practice Management.

The venue

The Law Society’s Hall, 113 Chancery Lane, London WC2 is within easy reach of Chancery Lane, Holborn, Temple and Blackfriars tube stations.

The venue has a reasonable level of access. However please indicate on the booking form if you have any particular access needs.
